Mrs. Administrator Posts: 57 Group: Admin Member #1 Joined: 12 September 2009	Forum Rules Mature Rule: Here at Age of Patronus, we expect a different level of maturity than most other sites. While our rating allows you more creative freedom, with this freedom comes a large responsibility. Themes and elements in your threads may include violence, some strong language and downplayed sexual dialogue or situations. Descriptions of sex are forbidden, but the mention of reference to is allowed. We do not want detailed descriptions of any sort of sexual action. This applies to abuse, rape, torture, self-harm, incest, and mental illnesses. Handlers are allowed to use these tools sparingly, and with good taste and judgment. If an Admin believes someone is out of line, they will be warned. Harry Potter Canon: Since Age of Patronus is based off of the Harry Potter series, most all content should be what we call 'canon'. Canon related to everything relating to Harry Potter, so if it relates to the books then it will be allowed. Character Rules Character Names: Canon Characters, or characters from the Harry Potter series, are not allowed.. Names should be original and unique. If you wish to play a Canon's descendant, check with an Admin and ask about the family trees. Also, you should check the current members' names to make sure the last name you want to use is not currently being used by someone else. If so, then - unless it being a common name - you should contact that member to see if it's okay with them. Character Face: To claim a celebrity as your character's 'face', you should post in the Face Claim thread using the correct format. If a face is already claimed, you may not use that celebrity. Ages: For the first three IC years, we will be accepting student characters in all years, only under the condition that they have escaped from Hogwarts and are resuming their education. Adult character are allowed as well. Backgrounds: While we all want our characters to be unique and special, we should do this without having extraordinary backgrounds. This is a RP concept commonly known as powerplaying. This includes, but is not limited to: -- Descendants of founders or canon character.* -- Anything other than human characters. This means no part veela, vampires, centaurs, merpeople, or werewolves.* -- Remarkable powers, such as elementals, animagi, psychics, seers, empaths, occlumens, and legilimins.* -- Bizarre physical traits, such as naturally pink hair or eyes that change colors according to the person's mood. We're all still humans here. -- Royalty. Absolutely no character are allowed to be 'actively' royal. While they may be descendants, there should be no heirs to any throne, no matter what country. *Without approval from Admin. Marriage/Pregnancy: Marriage is not allowed between under-aged students. A student must graduate before being allowed to get married, though engagement is permitted for upper-level students. Pregnancy applied the same as well. Not even pregnancy scares are permitted. Though some students in real life do occasionally become pregnant during their school years, if you really wish this to be a part of your character's plot, contact and Admin and your situation will be reviewed. RP Rules -- All posts should be written in third person and in past tense. -- There will be no god-modding allowed. God-modding consists reading another character's thoughts, posting another character's actions, or posting the outcome of your character's action on another. -- Out Of Character (OOC) comments should be kept to a minimum. If you have a comment or question, use your Personal Messages. -- All IC posts should be at least a paragraph long. Any shorter will be considered spamming and will be counted as grounds for Warnings. -- Signatures should be no larger that 500x200 pixels and rated no higher than PG-13. Characters are allowed up to six lines of text. Signature content should be the same rating as the site. Discipline The Warning System 1st Minor Infraction: -- A PM will be sent to the handler, containing the reason and a kind reminder of the rules. -- This will be the only reminder of the rules before a Warning is actually issued. 2nd/3rd Minor Infraction: -- A PM will be sent to the handler, containing the reason and a less gentle reminder of the rules. -- The character's Warn count will be increased. 4th Minor Infraction and Major Infractions: -- Up to the decision of the Administrators. -- May include banning or deletion, depending on the severity of the offense.
